Classes-
Please stop by or call to add your name to the classes that are forming. Materials and supplies are available at the shop and you will receive a 10% discount on yarns and supplies for the class. Please pay for the class and supplies prior to start of class and mention the class for a 10% discount. Class sizes are limited, so please sign up early so you will not be disappointed. If you can't make one of the scheduled classes, ask about lessons that are available in private. Please make sure you sign up for the appropriate class for you level of knitting. Class size is limited and payment is nonrefundable 1 week prior to class starting. If you miss the class, payment is also nonrefundable.
*Basic Knitting Skills--must know how to cast-on, knit, purl, increase, decrease
*Intermediate Skill level--must be able to read a pattern, have completed a sweater pattern and is comfortable with their knitting skills.
Class Schedule-Feb-March 2012
Socks on 1 circular needle-- (basic knitting skills) Learn how to knit socks in the round using 1 long circular needle. You will start out making a top down sock using DK weight yarn. Sock pattern provided. You will need safety pin stitch marker, size 3 40" circular needle and DK weight yarn.
Dates: Sat Feb 18, 25 & Mar 3 Time: 11-1 on Feb 18 & 25 --10:30-1 on Mar 3
Class Cost: $45 plus materials. (Size 3 40" long addi turbo circular needle and DK weight sock yarn)
Beginning Knitting--This class is for you if you have never picked up a knitting needle. Two 2 hour sessions: Learn how to cast on, do the knit and purl stitch and cast off.
Dates: Tues Feb 14 & 21 Time: 11:00-1:00
Class cost: $30 plus materials. You will need worsted weight yarn, and needles appropriate for yarn
Multi-directional Scarf with embellishment-(basic knitting skills required) Learn how to do a multi-directional scarf with embellishment. You will learn the basics of short row knitting, increases & decreases. You will need a chunky yarn and a skein of novelty yarn. Come by to see the sample and let us help you pick out your yarn. Pattern provided.

Skills Building: Knitting in Both Directions- (basic knitting skills required)
Learn how to knit or Purl in the opposite direction. Learn how to do stockinette stitch without having to turn your work.

Class Cost: $20 plus materials. Bring worsted or DK weight yarn and needles appropriate to yarn size. Booklet included.
Elizabeth Zimmerman's Ribwarmer Vest-(basic knitting skills required)
Learn how to knit this popular vest in garter stitch. I will teach you how to do short rows, knit it all in one piece (she usually knits it in 2 pieces) and do an optional collar. It will be finished off with an I-cord trim. Come by to see the sample or see it on my blog.

Time: 10:30-1:00
Class Cost: $50 plus materials. You will need worsted weight yarn and must pick it out and do a swatch prior to the first class. Gauge in garter stitch should be 16 stitches and 32 rows to 4". Make sure you treat your swatch the way you would the garment. Wash, dry, steam etc. the swatch. Take your measurements before you wash your swatch and after you wash your swatch.
Skill Building-Continental Knitting-(basic skills required) Learn how to knit and purl with your left hand. This technique is also known as picking and can be faster and easier on your hands. Good for those wishing to learn how to knit with both hands for fair isle and double knitting.

Class cost: $20 plus materials. Worsted weight yarn and appropriate size needles
Basic Reversible Cable Class -(basic knitting skills required) Learn how to do a basic reversible cable. You will be taught how to read a cable chart and how to understand the symbols.

Class cost: $20 plus materials. Worsted weight yarn, markers, cable needles, and knitting needles appropriate for yarn.
Andalucia Double Knit Scarf-(intermediate skills required) It is helpful if you have done fair isle knitting and know how to knit and purl both continental (left hand) and English (right hand). You will be learning how to read a chart for double knitting and will be doing this color sampler scarf in Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift. Both sides of the scarf are reversible. Come by to see the sample.

Time: 10:30-1
Class cost: $45 plus materials. Kits for the scarf will be available and discounted at 10% for the class. The pattern calls for a size 1 24" circular needle, but I used a size 2.
